….by gay I mean man to man, dick to dick. You see this things look better in those XXX rated sites (don’t gimme the “even you look!” Who has never been there searching for some turn on…). Any who, whichever shenanigan you prefer, let’s dive into some paradise searching. Before I debated with my inner being if to review this book through some calling on the Literatti Whatsapp group, I had been hoping that Kenyans put their creativity shit together in books;man we innovative on another level, glad Annemarie did it and hoping the rest with manuscripts follow suit.

One word for Annemarie, COURAGEOUS.  You see not everyone, including me can pen down gay related material leave alone some stuff to show support for the LGBT. The review now…. The author showcases the Coast culture that I loved plus characters matched their behavior. I also cannot forget the gods, witchcraft, asteroid, back and forth love relationship combo that makes the book worth reading. Anders and Ben are a couple back here in Kenya who first find it hard to get their skeletons out of the closet because this is KENYA, Africa, dah where some lifestyle or should we call them practices are hard to swallow. When Vordania Prime, an asteroid hits the earth the 3 musketeers; Zawadi, Ben and Anders are on a mission to make it in the ‘travesty of an afterlife’ as refugees.

In this journey Zawadi is abducted by the god of chaos, storms and foreigners-Seth who wants his brother Osiris-god of resurrection and fertility dead: she is bait and the gay duo must kill him for her safety. It is here that they come across Eric, a witchdoctor who intoxicates them with his tea and when they snap out of it, Osiris takes shape in Eric’s body. (As a matter of fact Osiris has been dead for ages, just his spirit roaming about). Tables turn when he commands to be taken to his brother and so must they obey. Another plot twist takes center stage when Isis, Osiris wife possesses Zawadi’s body and Anders must find way to communicate to his sister to free her trapped body. As it is later revealed, the god family feud is all about taking throne and getting the queen. What later unfolds is a pregnant Zawadi with a god. She then gives birth to Horus, Isis’s child and the family that was once separated by the asteroid is united.

Cons: Methinks the author sort of concentrated more on the gay sex than the gods which as a reader had a rush finish. I kind of expected some evil dead like in the book of the dead feeling. Secondly, the book ends at page 126/202 and what follows are notes that each occupy a full page. Me hopes in the printing that will not be the case.
